Shuji Hotta was appointed as Business Development Manager of SMI in December 2014. He went on to become the General Manager for SMI Mobile and SMI-Senko business units. After the recent divestment of SMI Mobile business unit, Shuji is currently responsible for the development of SMI-Senko in its provision of logistics and warehousing services in Myanmar. He is also responsible for SMI's Japan related joint venture businesses in Myanmar.
Shortly after graduating from Kyoto University in Japan, Shuji joined Sony in 1998, and developed his career in sales and marketing field at Sony`s headquarters in Tokyo. He was in a position to build a worldwide business strategy for Sony`s electronics products and its implementation. He expatriated twice, in Miami and Paris to oversee the Latin America and European markets respectively.
Shuji has over 16 years of experience with leading Japanese telecom, consumer electronics company (Sony) and also B2B products in JP/EU/US. He was responsible for the European business (incl. P/L) of Sony`s consumer electronics products. He managed the overall business process including sourcing, stocking, trading and selling.
Shuji is fluent in Japanese, English and French and holds an MBA from University of Paris.
